George Oommen: A Retrospective

Kanjeevaram Series I
Kanjeevaram Series I

George Oommen's work is largely abstract with a landscape flavor. Characterized by a strong horizon and colors from his homeland (rich Indian yellows, olive green, and turquoise blue), he plays with the viewer's focus by interrupting the line of vision with a veil of screens or paint drips. An exhibition of his work will be held in the Parker Gallery.

Wed., July 1 to Fri., July 31. Reception Sat., July 18, 5pm - 7pm. Whistler House Museum of Art, 243 Worthen Street, Lowell.

For more information call 978-452-7641 or visit www.whistlerhouse.org.

"Great Bites" - An ArtWalk Party
Come join the Revolving Museum in downtown Lowell for the ArtWalk Kick Off Party. Meet the artists who have created the pieces that people empty storefronts all through Lowell for third year in a row, making the City more beautiful and more fun. There will be a cash bar and lots to look at.
