The Young Professionals of Greater Lowell will host their fifth annual leadership forum on Thursday, September 23, 2010. This year's event will feature Mark King (CEO and President, Taylor Made-Adidas Golf) and Milton Ezrati (Partner, Sr. Economist and Market Strategist at Lord, Abbett & Co.). A table of 10 is $500. The City of Lowell is proud to announce an exciting opportunity for businesses, building owners, and residents of Lowell's Downtown Historic District (DLHD) to seek up to $500,000 in combined grant and loan incentives for energy efficiency improvements to their buildings.  The DLHD encompasses much of Lowell's downtown area including the commercial district, millyards, and canal system. The Lowell Historic Board's interactive website makes it easy to check a specific address to see if it is within the Historic District (http://www.lowellma.gov/depts/historic-board/review-districts-permitting/Street%20Listings%20-%20All%20Districts.pdf/view.  Details for the complete Grant Application will be announced in late September.

Downtown Business News!!

To All,

 

The Downtown Lowell Business Committee of the Greater Lowell Chamber, in conjunction with the Center City Committee invite all retailers, restaurants, galleries and entertainment venues in downtown Lowell to participate on a new event:  2010 Student Welcome Event.    Please see the details below:

 

UPromote | 2010 Student Welcome Event

 

What is it:  The 2010 Student Welcome event is an opportunity to promote the downtown offerings to the new and existing students and faculty of the university and community college

 

When:  Wednesday September 15th from 5:00 – 7:00

 

Location:  To be determined

 

Participation:  Vendors (restaurants, retailers, museums) will receive one six-foot display table to show their wares.  Vendors are encouraged to advertise discount programs, give out samples, and promote their involvement in the U-Card program

 

Cost to Participate:  The donation of one $10.00 gift card or certificate. The cards will go into a door prize basket.

 

Marketing Benefit:   All visitors will have an opportunity to register for the door prize.  The information gathered from the door prize raffle will go to the City for Downtown This Week, and will ultimately be shared will all participants for future marketing purposes.
