The New England Quilt Museum, 18 Shattuck Street: Kinder Komforts: Amish Crib Quilts, March 4 - May 9:  Bringing together many of the most remarkable examples of Amish quilting, all the more exquisite for their small dimensions, Kinder Komforts represents a new view of Amish quilt making.  Amish crib quilts are made with the same saturated colors and simple, striking patterns as traditional large-scale Amish quilts. They are made, however, with a greater degree of freedom than large quilts, precisely because they are intended for rough wear and utilitarian purposes. These small quilts present notable variations in color and design, making Kinder Komforts an eye-opener even for those who think they know Amish quilting. F or more information visit a  www.nequiltmuseum.org
