Performance by the University Orchestra 

The University Orchestra, led by conductor Mark Latham, will be performing a concert featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 and "Jupiter" and "Mars" from Holst's The Planets.  The concert will be held in the Concert Hall at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is free and open to the public.

Lowell Celebrates Kerouac, March 8-11
Enjoy a long weekend of events to celebrate Jack Kerouac's Birthday!

4:00 p.m.: Introduction to Kerouac's recently released novel, The Sea Is My Brother.

7:30pm: An Evening with John Sampas, Literary Executor of the Estate of Jack and Stella Kerouac will engage in a dialog with Michael millner and Todd Tietchen, Professors of English at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, about his history with Jack Kerouac and his literary estate.

Lowell National Historical Park presents a special film screening of "Made in LA" 

The Emmy award-winning feature documentary (70 min) that follows the remarkable story of three Latina immigrants working in Los Angeles garment sweatshops as they embark on a three- year odyssey to win basic labor protections from a trendy clothing retailer.
