COOL announces Discover Lowell 2012!


Discover Lowell is presented by the Cultural Organization of Lowell
COOL Pop-Ups: May through September

COOL Pop-Ups transform empty and underutilized storefronts and spaces into vibrant and innovative exhibitions, installations, performance venues, creative businesses and artists workspaces.

 

Head downtown on the third Friday of each month for a Gallery Walk with receptions, performances, live music, and restaurant and retail promotions.

March 30-31: Dickens in Lowell Opening Weekend

Exhibition Opening Reception, Friday March 30th 5pm to 7pm

Boott Cotton Mills Museum Fourth Floor Feeder, 115 John Street

Join us for this lively reception and view the exhibit in the Boott Gallery.

 

Celebrate the grand opening reception for Dickens in Lowell followed by an amazing Saturday lineup of programming all around town! Dickens in Lowell is a seven-month slate of exhibitions, performances, speakers and family programs that commemorate Charles Dickens' 1842 trip to Lowell. View a complete schedule here.

A celebration of Lowell's rivers and canalways with art activities, ethnic food vendors, live music, performers and more! This year's festival will feature a River Ride bike-a-thon with the Greater Lowell Community Foundation and collaborative programming with Lowell's Sustainability Week.

Kerouac Literary Festival
Throughout Lowell
Celebrate Lowell's own Jack Kerouac with a lineup of readings, lectures and walking tours. Presented in partnership with Lowell Celebrates Kerouac and UMass Lowell.

Monster Bash and Halloween Stroll
Downtown Lowell
Parade your favorite costume and turn out downtown for this family-friendly trick-or-treat event with ghoulish fun for all ages! Presented in partnership with Kiwanis Club of Greater Lowell and Lowell Dept. of Parks and Recreation.

Learn to find and retain resources for your creative small business. Presented in partnership with the Merrimack Valley Small Business Assistance Center.

City of Lights and Holiday Arts Stroll
Downtown Lowell
This signature event features performers, kids' activities, photos with Santa, a hot chocolate competition and the regions premier nighttime parade.
