The Paranoid Critical Revolution and friends

Friday, October 1, 8pm

THE PARANOID CRITICAL REVOLUTION features guitarist Reg Bloor's non-traditional harmonies, drummer Libby Fab's odd meters, plus atonality, dissonance, guitar accessories used in ways that they were never intended, and of course loud, screechy rock!!

n addition to PCR, guitarist Reg Bloor has been playing with Glenn Branca (to whom she is married) since 2000. She played in Branca's Symphony No. 12, Lesson No. 3, his rock band Branca/Bloor, and in his trio, eventually becoming Concertmaster for his Symphony No. 13 for 100 Guitars. She can be heard on Branca's new CD "The Ascension: The Sequel". In the late 90's she was a founding member of the Boston-based band TWITCHER, who released the self-produced CD "Leg of Lamb of God" in 1999 and appeared on the soundtrack for the Troma film "Terror Firmer". Produced by Vanessa Lefevre.

David Crane and Margot Stage: Fibrous Forms

October 19 through November 13th

Fibrous Forms is an exhibit of new work by wood sculptor David Crane and fiber artist Margot Stage who are using this opportunity to expand approaches to their usual
materials. Crane uses wood in ways that reference fiber -- bending and interlacing thin strips of cyprus and walnut to create airy, open forms. And tearing figured maple veneer
into ribbons of energy. Stage departs from 2-D work to create sculpture with fiberous materials -- stringing multiple tie linings into sensual shapes. And ripping, bending and
twisting fiberglass screening to become abstract forms.
119 Gallery promotes contemporary and new media art, innovative ideas and cutting-edge techniques with a rich and diverse program of exhibitions, performances and community-based arts services. We welcome everyone to explore and experience new, innovative art.
