CSFOpportunities to support Fresh and Local this Season - vote with your fork!

The New Entry Sustainable Farming Project invites you to take forkACTION this season by supporting your local farmers, fishermen/women, caterers, and farmers markets in your community. Opportunities abound for you to connect with the source of your food, to vote with your fork, and to give back to your local community - help us keep our hard-earned dollars circulating locally! Read more about opportunities with the Community Supported Fishery through Cape Ann Fresh Catch (hurry- only 2 weeks left to sign up for the May distribution season!); local, seasonal and tasty catering for your next function, while supporting UTEC's Fresh Roots Culinary Program; join the World PEAS CSAand get a weekly share of both FRUIT and veggies (with an exotic veggie or two to expand your culinary horizons); and gear up for all your local goodies at the Lowell and other area Farmers' Market this summer.

Dig in to some local treats!
CSFCommunity Supported Fishery!

World PEASpartnered with the Cape Ann Fresh Catch (CAFC) to deliver wildly-fresh, local, and sustainably caught fish to several towns in the greater Boston and Lowell areas. This wonderful opportunity is open to anyone, whether or not you are a member of the World PEAS CSA.

CAFC operates using the same 'community supported' model as Community Supported Agriculture, known as Community Supported Fishery (CSF): Consumers join the CSF at the beginning of the season, by paying up front ($20-$24/wk for 13 weeks).

Weekly shares will consist mostly of cod, hake, haddock, pollock, whiting and the flatfishes like yelllowtail flounder and grey sole, e.g. (except halibut).

Shares can be picked up in Dracut (provided we get enough shareholders!), at the same time and place as the World PEAS CSA distribution, as well as in Cambridge, Jamaica Plain, Lexington, Lincoln, Fenway and several other locations.  For more information or to register, visit the Cape Ann Fresh Catch website, call 978-283-7304 or email info@capeannfreshcatch.org.

UTEC's Fresh Roots Catering business combines quality food with a social purpose, and is available to help you impress your guest at your next function.

Incorporating seasonal produce, customized menus, and gourmet dishes, the program is available to cater lunch for your business meeting, appetizers at your cocktail party, serve dinner at your fundraiser, or work around your specific needs.

The World PEAS CSA is taking final registrations for Large and Extended Season Shares (sorry, at this time Small Shares have sold out).  To register or to learn more about getting fresh, local and sustainably-grown vegetables this season, while supporting the next generation of Massachusetts farmers, view the brochure at http://nesfp.nutrition.tufts.edu/downloads/CSABrochure.pdf,
