C I TY MANAGER'S SUMMIT SERIES SPRING 2010 START UP YOU SPOKE AND WE LISTENED.  Work will start-up again the week beginning Monday, April 5. Finish work includes the completion of the handicapped ramps and crosswalks at the intersections shown on the map. Final paving and crosswalk work will also be done at Market/Central/Prescott before the end of May. Any need for detours will be communicated in advance. Parking will be minimally impacted this year with a goal of the least impact possible. All parking will be restored when work is complete. The contractor will also do his best to complete work timely and with minimal disruption and inconvenience. We appreciate your cooperation during the finish process which will result in an improved historic district streetscape and enhanced pedestrian experience for all.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact DPD at 978-446-7200 and mention the Downtown Improvements.

Concord River Whitewater Rafting: It's not too early to sign up for this year's Concord River Whitewater Rafting Season!  Class III & IV rapids through the green heart of Lowell.  Season begins April 10th.  Trips run at 9am and 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays through May.  For more information visit www.lowelllandtrust.org.

Pol lard  Memorial Library Foundation is proud to announce our 4th annual "Meet the Author Night" scheduled for Thursday April 29 @ 6pm at the Pollard Library.  Michael Holley is a New York Times best selling author of three books about the world of Boston sports, and a 1994 Pulitzer Prize winner for Meritorious Public Service.  He has been a celebrated sports columnist for several years at such publications as The Chicago Tribune and The Boston Globe.  He is most famous as a Boston sports radio personality and co-host of the Dale & Holley Show heard daily on WEEI AM radio by thousands of dedicated listeners.  He is widely in demand by the national sports media for his unique and eloquent views on professional sports and athletes, and has made appearances on both ESPN and Fox Sports.  Tickets are a $35 donation to the Library Foundation, which includes wine and hors d'oeuvres.  For

American Textile History Museum,  491 Dutton Street: .More Than a Number. April 17 - July 25. The story of the survivors of the mass genocide of the "killing fields" of Cambodia expressed through the powerful and inspirational images of its people. Ashundreds of thousands of Cambodians escaped the country, they were admitted to refugee camps and identified through "transit" or "T" number photos. These transit photos - symbolizing the refugees' first glimpse of hope for their future through acceptance into another country - are the poignant foundation of Remember, a series of S-21 prisoners painted on rough silk by Rachel Faller.
