Welcome to the Neighborhood, Appleton Mills Artists' Exhibition  

An exhibition of work by the artists living in the new Appleton Mills artist live/work lofts. Hosted by the Brush Gallery, one of Lowell's oldest galleries, this exhibition will provide the public with a glimpse of the work being done by Lowell's newest group of artists.

Night at the Museum  
Explore the museum when it comes alive at night!  Solve the mystery of missing mill worker Lyddie Worthen, using a diary to help guide the way. Costumed "mill workers" interact with children, and they and their parents solve the mystery.

XFest 2012 at 119 Gallery  
Come enjoy a weekend of fun!  119 Gallery presents XFest 2012, a festival of improvised music, visuals, and movement. The format of the festival is simple and challenging: 20 visiting artists and 40 local artists perform. On Friday and Saturday evenings there are 10 half-hour sets that include two visiting artists and two local artists.

Lowell Folklif e Series presents Jorge Arce
In honor of Black History Month, we bring you an Afro-Caribbean workshop with a hint of Caribbean carnival. Jorge Arce is a percussionist, educator, and native of Ponce, Puerto Rico. His performance on February 24th is a unique and interactive exploration of Puerto Rican and Afro-Caribbean culture.

Family Concert by the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra
This popular concert is free and music lovers of all ages are welcome!
This performance uses humor, story-telling, demonstrations and participation to introduce classical music and orchestral instruments in an entertaining and kid-friendly environment to families, including those with very young children.

Opportunities
Young Angel Midnight Nominated for New England Art Award
In celebration of its tenth anniversary, the Cultural Organization of Lowell (COOL) has commissioned Bootstrap Productions to compose an anthology, Young Angel Midnight: An Emerging Generation in the Arts of Lowell, featuring the artwork by some of Lowell's most gifted emerging artists. This 200-page book featuring full-color reproductions also includes a previously unpublished poem by Lowell native, Jack Kerouac.  Young Angel Midnight has been nominated for a New England Art Award in the Book category.
