Killer Poet: The Double Life of Norman Porter [2008]: Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 PM.  Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center, 246 Market Street, Special Guest: Director Susan Gray
Relive the tragic, true story of Norman Porter, a convicted double murderer from Lynn, Massachusetts, who served 25 years in prison before escaping to Chicago where he spent the next two decades living as a poet/intellectual by the name of JJ Jameson - an elaborately crafted false identity. Through the story of one charismatic man, we explore the system of justice and retribution in the United States, and the political nature of sentencing. Presented in partnership with Moses Greeley Parker Lectures.
