175th Anniversary of the City of Lowell's incorporation

April 2011

To the citizens of Lowell,

This April marks the 175th Anniversary of the City of Lowell’s incorporation. Throughout the year there will be lively festivals, events and activities happening all over the city to commemorate the occasion.  On behalf of the committee and my colleagues in government it is my distinct honor to invite you to celebrate in this important milestone at a kick-off reception.

This year’s celebration will take place on Monday, April 11th at JFK Plaza, City Hall at 4:30pm.  The program will include a multicultural parade with Lowell High School Marching Band, a speaking program, birthday cake for all attendees and tours of City Hall.

Please join the City Council, School Committee Members, City Manager Bernie Lynch, Secretary of the Commonwealth William Francis Galvin, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Senator Eileen Donoghue, and Representative Thomas Golden to celebrate this occasion.

There will be musical performances by Lowell High School Marching Band, Gentlemen Songsters, and Amy Black.

Please visit our website for more information as we celebrate and showcase the city throughout the year:  www.lowell175.org

Thank you for your continued support to the City of Lowell.

Sincerely,

James L. Milinazzo

Mayor
