Artist Brenda Cirioni's ethereal, impressionistic landscapes are inspired by the land around her -- woods, pastures and ponds. Her work is now featured at the Groton Public Library.

From Mundane Foundations to Monsters, June 2 - 27

Artist Michael Miller combines found objects (wood from dismantled mills, scrap metal from abandoned lots in Lowell, and store-bought hardware) into canvas-like structures, then layers them with varnish, oil, and acrylic, alternately building up and tearing down the surface.

All films shown in conjunction with Pollard Library's display of Forever Free, a traveling exhibition that "reexamines President Lincoln's efforts toward the abolition of slavery during the Civil War."

"Wanderings" at Centro Restaurant, through June

Downtown Lowell restaurant Centro will feature the works of Arts League of Lowell (ALL) artist and member Kellie Weeks from her series titled "Wanderings," encaustic paintings based on self-seeking and self-searching. The series is on display through June.

Light of Cambodian Children Transit Market, June 20

Light of Cambodian Children's upcoming Transit Market features musical performances, free arts and crafts tables, pottery wheel, face painting, Khmer cooking demo, artisan products, games and prizes, and more. Presented as part of the "More Than a Number" exhibit.

Art in Whistler Park
Thursday, June 3 and Thursday, June 17, 5-8pm. Artist members of the Lowell Art Association, Inc./WhistlerHouse Museum of Art are welcome to bring art to sell. No registration fee. Membership must be current to participate. New members are welcome to purchase memberships and participate as well. Art can be displayed on your own tables and easels and can be hung on the fences. In the event of rain, tables will be supplied in the Parker Gallery. Members are welcome to use their own easels as well. This event is open to the public. Email for a registration form.

Registration is open for Lowell Open Studios
Now through June 1, save $10 on your registration fee and pay just $40. On June 2 the fee increases to $50. If you registered last year, your personal information is still active. Login at

Lowell Riverfest: Art Goes Green Saturday, June 12, (Raindate June 13) Noon - 5:00 PM.  Come to the Concord River Greenway in historic downtown Lowell for a day of education, art, music and fun! Spend the day with your family enjoying fun activities and learning about Lowell's long relationship with its rivers and canals.
