The mission of New Entry is to assist multi-cultural individuals with agricultural backgrounds to successfully enter farming in Massachusetts. The broader goals of New Entry are to support the vitality and sustainability of the region's agriculture, to build long term economic self-reliance and food security among participants and their communities, and to expand access to high-quality, culturally appropriate foods in underserved areas through production of locally-grown foods.

For this we are grateful...

We are grateful to our farmers, friends, supporters and partners who make our work fulfilling, keep us nourished,  and fill our lives with abundance.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at New Entry!

We are also thankful for our fertile soils and for each person who connects with our program, either as a farmer, customer or friend and helps support a vibrant and sustainable food system.

Some words of thanksgiving from our friends....

"The best thing abou t the World PEAS CSA is feeling connected with the season, even in downtown Boston."Amelia, 2010 World PEAS CSA Member.

"I've appreciated getting to know fresh, wonderful vegetables such as water spinach, amaranth, special squashes, and all sorts of other delicious additions to my kitchen." - Lenore, 2010 World PEAS CSA Member

"CSA participation is a highlight of our summer. We love the surprise aspect of it - what's going to be in our box this week? We love being introduced to new fruits and vegetables. We are glad to plan our menus around the vegetable for the week and to get in the habit of eating less meat" - Ann, 2010 World PEAS CSA Member

"I really enjoyed the farm day. I appreciated getting to meet the farmers and seeing how some of the less New England-y crops grow. I had never seen eggplants growing. They are gorgeous! Husk cherries, I never would have expected how they grow!"  - Emilie attendee at the 2010 Open Farms Tour.

"This course absolutely helped me recognize opportunities and limitations.  It has me thinking about so many possibilities and has laid the groundwork for me to set practical goals and carry out a plan.  The course helped me be much more realistic about pursuing my farm dream." -Beth, 2010 graduate of New Entry's Farm Business Planning Course.

"Great job.  New Entry and Tufts Vet team works well together to get valuable information in our hands.  Thank you very much! " - Deb - New Entry 2010 Sheep School student

"The course offered invaluable experience for growing my business and knowing what to expect.  Farming is what I want to do in the future, and having taken the class, I feel that it has become less idealistic and more realistic." - Katherine, 2010 New Entry Farm Business Planning Course graduate.
