DLBC Up-date

Good Afternoon Everyone,

 

This morning the DLBC and the Center Committee met at the Mayor’s Reception Room to discuss issues affecting downtown businesses.  Thank you to George Villaris for facilitating this meeting

 

Some discussion points from this morning were the issue of the loading zones.  Please be sure to get in touch with Jeff Gomes at jgomes@lowellma.gov by the end of next week regarding your loading zone issues or suggestions.  Also discussed were parking issues, cleaning-up of downtown and having one night per week, during the summer when the summer music series and other events are happening, to keep your business opened.  The City of Lowell and the Chamber would help to promote this initiative through advertisements.  We would need everyone’s by-in to do this – we would continue throughout the summer as a “pilot program.”

 

Lastly, our next meeting has been scheduled for May 4, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. at the Mayor’s Reception Room.  Please remember that this is an open forum – all businesses are invited.  You do not have to be a member of the Chamber to join us!
