Lowell Riverfest 2011: Culture Flows

& the Concord River Greenway Park

 

Riverfest 2011Join us for a festive exploration of the connections between Lowell's rivers and canals and the ethnic communities that call our city home.

 

Celebrate the unveiling of community murals made by Lowell students with artist Lineu Zadereski as well as his on-site original sculpture.

Cape Ann Fresh Catch Brings Local, Sustainable
Seafood to Lowell!

Cape Ann Fresh Catch, a Community Supported Fishery (CSF), will be joining this year's Lowell Farmer's Market!  Choose from whole fish or fillets and weekly or bi-weekly delivery to best suit your family's needs. Pick-up will be available every Friday from 4-6PM at JFK Plaza. New Exhibits Opening at the Textile Museum (www.athm.org  

Marking Time: Voyage to Vietnam, May 21st -September 25th
This exhibit presents the dramatic stories - told through graffiti left on a troopship's bunk canvases - of young American soldiers headed to the Vietnam war. 
  
Glamour and Grace: 1930s Fashion, May 21st - October 16th
This exhibit showcases fashions of the 1930s, when graceful cuts and glamorous fabrics replaced the boxy, boyish styles of the previous decade, embracing the streamlined shape, elegant styles and newly invented fibers of a hopeful modernism.

Boston Conservatory Presents FREE Performances of
"Factory Girls"

June 4th at 8PM, as part of the Lowell Folklife Series, the Lowell National Historical Park presents "Traditional Irish Music and Dance: Three Master Teachers and Their Apprentices Perform Together" featuring fiddle player Laurel Martin and stepdancers Kieran Jordan & Kevin Doyle.
